Paying us...

You can pay for anything via credit or debit card online, or via cheques made payable to Orca Publications and sent to Orca Publications, Berry Road Studios, Berry Road, Newquay, Cornwall, TR7 1AT.

How long do you keep my card details for?

We keep your contact details for about three months but credit card details aren't kept for any longer than it takes us to process the order (ie about 2 working days).

How do I redeem gift vouchers?

To use these you must shop online and put your code into the discounts box at the checkout. See the picture below:

What about VAT?

For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 17.5% Value Added Tax (VAT) is included, except for books and subscriptions, which are not subject to VAT. Orders from all other parts of the world are VAT free and you should click the exempt button at the checkout to reduce VAT to zero.

How do I use the Basket? How do I choose items?

Just browse our catalogue, and click the little red 'ADD TO BASKET' button under any items that you wish to buy (see image below).

Then check the quantity you want is right, tell us the country you're in and click the Confirm button (or Checkout Now if you only want the one item).

Your item will appear in your basket as below. If you look at your Basket you will see the postage charges.

When you're done, click the CHECKOUT button and fill in the necessary details.

How do I delete items I don't want?

Go to your Basket, check the 'REMOVE' checkbox next to the item and put '0' in the 'QUANTITY' box. Then hit the 'Update' button below the table of items and the list will update to show remaining items.

How do I check out?

Make sure you read the terms and conditions at the bottom, boring but necessary. We're pretty flexible and any problems give us a call.

Fill in the address the card is registered to. Fields in blue must contain data, and rest assured we only keep contact details so we can contact you if there is a problem. If you have a coupon, discount code or voucher you MUST enter the details here. You can only claim freebies if you have spent the right amount excluding postage.
Then select your postage rate and click the Next button.

Then you can enter any other address details and select your payment option. Our site is secure but if you'd rather, you can call 01637 878074 any time and leave your details. Don't forget to give us the three digit security number from the signature strip, we can't process orders without this.

If you are paying by card you will be transferred to the secure Protx site to enter your details. Look for the padlock icon in the browser to show you it's secure (often on the bottom right of the window). This site has it's own FAQ pages which you can find from the link at the bottom of the page. If you are not sure, you can click Cancel to return to our site and pay by calling your details through to us.

What happens if I want goods sent to Europe?

If you are shopping from Europe or anywhere else, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency. PRICES SHOWN IN EUROS ARE APPROXIMATE. ACTUAL PRICE CHARGED WILL DEPEND ON THE EXCHANGE RATE ON DAY OF ORDER.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Switch/Maestro and debit cards. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet.

Note that we may ask for proof of your identity/address in the form of statements, unfortunately this is necessary to avoid fraudulent orders.

Why can't I register an account with you so I don't have to enter all my details every time I shop?

We don't keep credit card details, so you'll need to input your details every time you shop with us. Once you have made an order we do keep contact and order information so we can sort out the orders and any queries that arise. The best thing to do is to subscribe to our online newsletter (links on most pages to do this) and then we can send you details and offers this way, and if we decide to enable a 'My Account' feature we'll let you know.
