O’Neill CWC Scotland

As contests go the O’Neill CWC in Thurso has had a pretty good run of things in recent years. Yeah it’s been cold, but it’s always delivered barrels and plenty of sunshine, not the kind of weather that makes you go, “frickin’ ouch!” This year the weather turned it up to 11 with a Baltic northerly airflow delivering hail, gale, sleet, ash and snow. On top of that no one could escape because of the flight ban. CARVE froze it’s arse off to bring you the skinny.

Project Air

Inspired by the emerging emphasis on aerial antics in the top flight the fellas at Red Bull set up a science and skatey based training camp for their top athletes to hone their skills. Specialised weight sessions, custom built ramps, a foam pit and tow at sessions were the tools. Did it work? Check it out!

focus : oli adams

This issue we sent Mr Oliver Adams off to get his face in front of Mickatron’s lens. Oli’s had his ups and downs over the last few years from chronic illness to the delivery of a new daughter. In 2010 he is on the up and scored a sweet spring Irish swell, surfing about six different spots in two days. The photos are sick and whilst it may have been chilly his life is good.

Drivin’ Off Like A Bandit

What the hell is Charlie Brown’s Time Machine? You better go see Dane Reynolds and friends in this article and find out. Guaranteed you will be surprised what the coolest cat on tour got up to with his motor and possessions on the Goldie.

Shooters To Thrill

81 boards, a Ferrari, two birds in PVC bondage outfits, an AK47 with folding stock, MP5 with silencer, M4 and a sniper rifle. Words by one Mr Slater and some of the most knowledgeable ‘boardies’ in the business. That’ll be our Board Guide then you muppets!

Thunder Down Under

From FB and emails it seems like somewhere in Oz has been pumping every day since mid February. Our shooters, the big name pro’s and some of Britain’s best surfers were out there scoring the very best action across the Great Southern Land.
