Norways retains under 18 title at Hunter / Billabong British Schools Championships

Billy Norways successfully defended his Under 18 title at the Hunter / Billabong British Schools Championships which were held in clean four foot surf at Woolacombe, 14-15 April.
The contest attracted 120 young surfers aged 12 - 18 from 35 schools across the South West, England, Wales and the Channel Islands. Cornish surfers put in strong performances, winning the Under 18s title with Newquay's Josh Hughes taking first place in the Under 16s. Newquay bodyboarder Charlie Strang won the Under 16s bodyboard title. Jersey's Will Glenn won first place in the longboard category while fellow islander Bradley Ferguson impressed the judges with his gutsy surfing in the Under 14s.
Braunton's Karma Worthington took the girls title leading the North Devon school to its second successive title. The Hunter / Billabong British Schools Championship was presented by Calypso Aquajuices an dsupported by the BSA and Soundworx.
