The Agent 18 English Surfing Federation Inter Company Surf Battle a Great Success

July 23 - 2010

Russ Winter stamps his mark on UK competition again by leading his team to a convincing victory.

The annual Annual Agent 18 English Surfing Federation (ESF) Inter Company Surf andBodyboard Battle went offon Sunday afternoon.Blessed with 3ft crosshore peaks the best surfers and bodyboarders in England battled itoutfor the coveted tag team title. After smashing his first wave Rip Curl ESF Surf School team member and Europes most successful surfer Russell Winter set a pace that the other teams were unable to match. Victory went tothe Rip Curl ESF Surf Surf School closely followed by the Quiver team. Notable mentions also included Tom Butler who received the prizefor the best manouvre of the contest and eventual third place getters Atlantic Coast Surf Academywhich comprised of the UK's top under 16 surfers who competed with a maturity far beyond their meagre years.

The bodyboarding event was a closely fought battle betweenRob Barbers Bodyboarding school and the young guns of the Tesco Massive. After a marathon hour and twenty minute final experience prevailed over youthful enthusiasm and RobBarber's Bodyboarding School emerged victorious for the third year in a row.

This year the event was titlesponsored by Agent 18 wetsuits whogenerously donated a range of their top endwetsuits to the winning teams. Agent 18 is a wetsuit company that is new to UK shores but has been creating waves in Australia and America with their revolutionary wetsuit designs.

The English Surfing Federation would also like to thankAlderSportswear, Rob Barber's Bodyboarding School, Rip Curl ESF Surf School, Carve Surfing Magazine, Surfgirl Magazine and ThreeSixty bodyboarding magazine for their continued support of the English Surfing Federation. They would also like to say a massive thanks to the event judges, especially Tony Good for an excellent days work. The event is run solely by volunteers so that maximum profit is made for the English Surfing Federation, funds which are used to support English surfing from learner surfers at the grassroots to the English national surfing team. The ESF has enjoyed a very successful year holding the Protest English National Championships in May, taking the English Junior team to Portugal to compete in the European Junior Championships and placing a very credible 4th place and now the Agent 18 Inter Company Surf Battle, now in its third year.
