Bodyboarding Phase 2 Course Goes Off!
On May 6-7 the sun shone down and the surf pumped in Newquay for the first ever Bodyboard Phase 2 course at Rob Barber’s Bodyboarding School.

Sunday afternoon session
The weekend was aimed at bodyboarders that had attended coaching courses before or were already at an intermediate stage in their riding. Coaches Aidan Salmon and Rob decided to hit the road for a surfari on both days, using three different beaches including an epic local secret spot for the coaching.

The waves were in the two-to-five foot range with a light southerly breeze keeping the faces clean with a couple of nice barrels to be had. The main focus of the weekend was lip moves and rolls, with some lip spins also been attempted.

The Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning coaching sessions were video’d by Pro camera man Sam Buckle and then reviewed with the riders by Salmon and Barber. Fast improvements were made with stella performances from Rob Middleton, Tim Mcgrath and Paul Bowey.

Lee Goodson busted the roll of the weekend on a sick lefthander. The Sunday afternoon session was completed with a fun competition, which Jason Kelly won. Jase took home a brand spanking new Custom X board for his troubles.
All the other participants received a well stuffed goodie bag from the sponsors ThreeSixty, Sola, BodyGlove, NMD and Custom X.

Keep your eyes peeled for future Phase 2 events to push the standard of British Bodyboarding and iron out those frustrating manouevre problems.
