Dave Hubb Visit

On June 3/4 Drop knee World champ Dave Hubbard visited the UK and brought with him one of the hottest weekends of the year - unfortunately there were no waves though. This didn’t seem to bother D-Hubb, who was the consumate professional as he met all the bodyboarders at each of his promo’ stops.

The first was Bodyboard HQ in Portreath where Dave Heard and the crew held a big autograph signing session. Then Dave cruised back to Newquay where he was staying and hooked up with the crew at Rob Barber’s Bodyboarding School where it was planned for him to hold a guest coaching session.

The assorted groms and adults picked Dave’s brains on every aspect of the sport and grabbed some Custom X freebies and posters. Their coaching weekend had to be postponed until July 1/2 when Danny Wall will now be offering guest coaching.

Hubbard then headed over to Fistral Surf Company to finish his promo runs for the day.

After a few hours chilling out Hubb and the crew headed down to Belushi’s Bar where he premiere’d his new Bodyboarding DVD Boogie Nights. The evening was a blast with top British pro’s, the crew from Rob Barber’s coaching weekend and every other bodyboarder in the south west hooting at the action and sucking back a few cold ones.

On the Sunday morning Dave was back on the road and hit the Pit Surf shop at St Merryn for a final signing before heading back up the motorway to Gatwick, to catch his flight to South Africa and continue his world promo tour.
