The brief for our spring catalogue photo shoot was pretty much the same as other clothing catalogues: go on location to a beautiful part of the world, with dramatic scenery & January sun. We found the perfect spot - you could be forgiven for thinking we were in the Mediterranean, not Newquay, England!
Just goes to show you don’t always have to travel far to find a bit of the exotic - our beautiful isle has so much to offer without the need for carbon heavy long-haul.
Our new catalogue is bursting with brand new organic t-shirts and hoodies and Earth friendly accessories, all of which are produced solely to raise essential funds & awareness for the SAS campaign. What’s more, our merchandise is greener than ever as all our garments are now printed by the only certified organic textile printer in the UK using organic inks. We also have an increasing range of products made from natural, sustainable materials such as bamboo, hemp & jute and from recycled materials, such as vending cups, tyres, CD cases, polystyrene, fabric & paper.
It’s already been another winter of discontent for SAS when it comes to the impact shipping is having on the UK’s coastline. Some ship’s captains are running an environmental gauntlet as they sail through bad weather and fail to harness their cargoes securely. They are under strict instructions to reach destinations on time. This strategy is coming at a cost with an estimated 10,000 containers lost at sea each day, much of which washes up on thousands of beaches worldwide. You can support our calls for safer shipping practices buy getting our ship inspired ‘Turning The Toxic Tides’ t-shirt. All our organic t-shirts cost £18 to SAS members and £20 to non-members.
