Summer Shape-up
-Laura Smith

Your skin is especially resilient but it grows accustomed to the surrounding conditions. That’s why environmental changes, whether they be from travel or just a change in the seasons can wreak havoc with your skin. Give your skin a bit of a treat!

Exfoliation
When using exfoliating treatments, make sure you use one specifically for your face or body. The particles designed to slough away all your dead skin cells will be bigger if the product is designed for your body, and you could risk doing damage if you use it on your face. This can also happen if you rub too hard, so take it easy on yourself! An excellent exfoliation-aid is a body polisher, a shower ‘puff’ or a loofah sponge, which you can use with your regular shower gel or with an exfoliating product. Again, use separate products on your body and on your face, and prepare to shine.

The Body Shop, Vitamin C Facial Polish

We all know that oranges that are good for you; now you can use their fab properties to revive, replenish, protect and preserve your skin.

Maintaining a Glowing Complexion
Eating oily fish is good for your skin, helping to nourish it, and make it soft. Colour co-ordinate your meals for lush skin! Add orange in the shape of carrots and sweet potatoes, and green with spinach and broccoli, to give your skin extra Vitamin A. Vitamin E is also great for your skin, so swap crisps and biscuits for hazelnuts and almonds as snack foods. Blueberries have been hailed as a ‘superfood’ as they are full of anti-oxidants, which are great for the skin.
