Alan Stokes
Born: 7/1/82
Home: Newquay, Cornwall

Like most pro's Alan's been surfing from an early age. After moving down to Newquay from Kent at the age of six, Mrs Stokes booked her son in for a weeks surfing lesson. Of course he was a natural and soon has his own board and wetsuit and was in the water chasing waves at every oportunity. Alan's competition results speak for themselves, his dedication has won him every British title open to him.

In 2004 Stokesy spent more time in UK waters and was crowned overall BPSA an dBritish Champion. 2005 saw Stokesy win his 1st title when he was crowned English Champion.

Jake Boex
Born: 13/2/78
Home: Newquay, Cornwall

Not only is Jake a top WQS surfer, he snowboards and is currently doing a Masters degree! I started when I was 10. I don't really know how it started, but living in Cornwall helped, I probably saw people surfing while walking on the beach. I've got twin brothers who are 18 months older than me and they got boards first, and of course I then wanted one and that was the catalyst.

After Uni, I gave it a bit more of a shot again and then 18 months ago O'Neill came to me with a really good offer-that’s when the reality really dawned on me that I could make a living from surfing. I love surfing in G-land in Java, Indonesia., it's got to be my favourite place.

Nathan phillips
Born: 1981
Home: Llantwit, Wales

Nath Phillips or ‘Weapon’ as the Llantwit massive call him, is one of Britain’s best young surfers. The combination of dark brooding looks that scythe down women like an Uzi on auto and some pretty neat tricks on a board got him a Quiksilver contract most surfers would kill for. Basically he’s a full time ‘photo slut’, required only to attend ‘Crossing’ trips and fashion shoots. Hard life, eh?
